Rodent Control
Once a couple of rodents get inside your home, they are extremely likely to make a nest there if they can find food, water, and shelter. Once rodents have set up a nest in your home, they will soon start breeding, and after going undetected for a while, they will be very difficult to get rid of on your own. A rodent control professional like Nature’s Edge can help you identify the size of your rodent problem and come up with specialized solutions for your home, but how do you know you have rodents? Check out the common signs below.
1
Rodent Droppings
These are a very common tell-tale sign that you have a rodent infestation. They are most commonly found in the kitchen and in drawers or cabinets close to the ground. Mice droppings measure up to a fourth of an inch in length, are dark brown, and have pointed ends. Rat droppings measure between three-fourths of an inch and a half of an inch and vary in shape according to the type of rat.
2
Noises
If you’ve been hearing scratching, scampering, or gnawing noises, you probably have a rodent infestation. These noises are often heard in walls, attics, and ceilings, and behind furniture.
3
Evidence of Chewing
Rodents often gnaw on anything and everything, so if you find small chew marks, especially on wood and cardboard, you probably have rodents.
4
Abnormal Pet Behavior
Cats will often sit and stare at places where rodents have been spotted. Dogs will often act weird in the same areas. Take note of these places for when your exterminators at Nature’s Edge come by to inspect your home.
5
Rodent Nests
If you find a nest made of cloth, paper, cardboard, and other similar materials shredded in pieces somewhere around your home, you definitely have (or have had) a rodent infestation. Be sure to call a pest professional like Nature’s Edge to inspect your home as soon as possible.
